Creativity

Today I had the opportunity to take a lampwork glass bead making class at the Utah Arts Festival. Steve bought a kit for me for Mother's Day,(a gift I totally love) and I have been slowly learning on my own. It's been mostly trial and error. But after the class today, my confidence has been boosted. Even enough to post pictures of the beads I made today. I still have a lot to learn, but it is such a fun hobby. I can't wait to fire up the torch again!

There was so much excitement at the Arts Festival. I roamed around, hopefully soaking up all the creative juices that were flowing! There were paintings that I thought were photographs; sculptures that were made out of beautiful decoupaged paper; tote bags made from layers of recycled grocery bags, and even fancy hats from a millinery.

I know that I have too many hobbies. But I love the way my brain seems to kick into gear when I have an idea. It seems to open up so many possibilities. Whether I am making beads, twisting balloons, or crocheting a hat, the process just seems to make me feel alive. And sharing it with others makes it that much better. Being at the Festival was an amazing experience. And I am so grateful for the talented people that are willing to share their creative talents with me.
